SPQR manhole cover in Rome. Photographed by me in the middle of the road with late afternoon commuter traffic zipping past my elbows. While this image does not fit into my three areas of work, oceans aircraft and people, it remains one of my favourite images and one day I shall draw it large as part of an SPQR series.
